Dr. Helen McAllister
Dr. Helen McAllister is an internationally recognised Textile Artist and researcher. She is currently the Head of Fashion and Textiles in the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, where she is supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She has exhibited extensively in Ireland and overseas and was the very first winner of the prestigious award, The Golden Fleece. Her work is a labour intensive product of her constant research which explores the ideas of binary oppositions and explores notions of pairing through shoe forms which draw on the strong influences of Venice.
